**The Role**

We are looking for an experienced Underwriter who leads by example and have a genuine passion for achieving results for their team, and for their organisation.

This role is varied, working closely with internal and external stakeholders including our Underwriting Committee, Claims team, Member Services and Marketing teams; and of course our Members.

Your work will be different every day but in general your priorities will include:

- Undertake market analysis or research emerging risks
- Undertake competitor comparisons in relation to product and policy coverage
- Make recommendations regarding product development and implement changes
- Respond to indemnity questions in a timely fashion ensuring that all decisions on policy coverage are made in good faith and in accordance with laws and the authorities set out in the Underwriting Manual
- Engage with all stakeholders, maintain a register for all future policy document and risk categorisation changes and in consultation with the Senior Underwriter and Executive Manager Membership & Insurance, prepare a written brief for the policy drafter
- Respond to Member Services referrals in relation to risk categorization or pricing queries
- Assist with review of marketing collateral or other product related documents to ensure underwriting intent is reflected accurately
- Prepare and provide training on products and business rules as required by other departments
- Support other Underwriting functions as required

- Minimum 3 years insurance experience in professional indemnity or Medical Indemnity
- RG146/Tier 2 qualification
- Professional Indemnity Insurance experience will be highly regarded
