**About our Client**
Our client is an award-winning underwriting agency, exclusively focused on providing flexible, innovative insurance solutions to help protect Australian businesses against cyber risks.

We are looking for a full time Cyber Underwriter to join our client's team, based in Melbourne. Reporting to the Underwriting Manager with a CBD office location, this is an exciting opportunity in underwriting cyber risk and being part of a growing and dynamic underwriting agency.

**The Role**
The role has primary and overall responsibility for underwriting in Melbourne and accounts nationally, ensuring that operational and financial performance, along with sales and retention targets are met. This role also gives you exposure to cyber underwriting and allows you to provide input into the national underwriting strategy.

**Responsibilities**
- Review and underwrite new business submissions and maintain a renewal book of policies in accordance with underwriting guidelines in line with underwriting authority;
- Ensuring all opportunities are documented and managed in a proactive and accurate manner;
- Writing referrals and articulating risk to senior underwriters as required;
- Work collaboratively in a team environment, assisting underwriters, assistants, and managers. Support Business Development Underwriters in the field as needed;
- Proactively liaising with brokers, claim handlers, and legal counsel. Provide guidance and seek input from others as needed to achieve the best result possible;
- Be actively involved in projects dealing with innovation for business as well as product development;
- Ensure regular internal reporting on important markets, clients, and product-related developments. Proactively communicate market intelligence.

**Skills and Competencies**
Working with a team of motivated and committed individuals, you will possess:

- Previous underwriting experience in cyber/or financial lines (desired);
- Bachelor's degree in relevant class of business (desired);
- Demonstrated high level of organisational and time management skills;
- Strong communicator: Proven verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation and influencing skills. Able to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders;
- Results oriented: Approach tasks proactively. Strong analytical and sound judgment skills with the ability to take initiative and to work independently;
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
