Osborne Richardson are delighted to offer an opportunity as Governance Officer with Hobart City Council.
This role provides specific administrative support to the Council, Council committees and elected representatives of the Council and also provides appropriate administrative support, as required, to the Government Unit to assist in meeting Unit and Divisional objectives.
Governance Officer position duties:
- Preparation of agendas, minutes and attendance at meetings of the Council and its Committees, capturing the minutes and to ensure the appropriate notification and referral of actions and correspondence arising from the meetings.
- Manage the logistics of special meetings and organise briefings for Elected Members.
- Ensure that Council and Committee deadlines are met, that correct procedures and protocols are followed.
- Prepare correspondence and reports arising from Council and Committee meetings.
- Undertake research for projects required by Council and its Committees and in support of the functions of the Governance Unit.
- Apart from the duties in the PD,
- There is a requirement to be available to attend meetings outside of normal business hours - ie 5 pm to an unknown finish time.
