About the Role:
Salvation Army Housing Victoria provides a range of housing services throughout the state of Victoria. We currently have an exciting 12 month fixed term opportunity for a Housing Worker to join our Sunshine, Melbourne team. This is a busy and rewarding role that will develop your tenancy management skills.

Reporting to the
_Housing Coordinator_ the Housing Worker will be responsible for tenancy and property management in line with the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA), whilst ensuring awareness of tenant and landlord roles and responsibilities and ensuring at all times the managed properties are of good standard.

Key Responsibilities:

- Within policy and procedure and Residential Tenancy Act guidelines, ensure assistance is provided to assess tenant issues, needs and circumstances and strategies have been developed to address these needs.
- Establish effective relationships with tenants that encourage selfdetermination and participation, and that supports them to improve their situation.
- Monitor tenants to ensure they act as good neighbours.
- Assist tenants where possible to access support services and establish community supports.
- Keep tenant records accurate and up to date, and maintain data for all tenants in accordance with Salvation Army Housing Victoria timelines, standards and procedures.

About you:

- Highly skilled administrator
- Knowledge or understanding of social housing programs, such as Transitional Housing Management (THM)
- Knowledge or understating of the Residential Tenancies Act (RTA)
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, with ability to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships
- Ability to address complex situations and resolve complaints through negotiation skills
- Ability to work autonomously
