This is a permanent & full time position based in Sydney. This position will report to the Managing Director and is available for immediate start.

The purpose of the role is to maintain a reliable terminal automation and information technology systems to ensure ongoing improvement of Safety, Customer service and terminal operational performance.

**Key responsibilities of the role (but not limited to)**:
Providing high levels of internal and external customer service in Automation and IT services for our terminals in Sydney and Darwin.
Ensuring reliability in IT/Automation business systems by monitoring, supporting, and continuously improving these systems
Ensuring compliance to Vopak Global IT standards and policies (security, standardisation)
Managing internal support helpdesk function
Managing IT asset register for software and hardware
Responsibility for IT OPEX budget and Automation & IT CAPEX projects
Leading IT and Automation innovations and improvements
Providing direction for Business Continuity Management and data backup
Managing and leading contracted service providers in effective ways
Leading coach and mentor team members to achieve business priorities through allocating resources and effective management.

WHO YOU ARE

Have a tertiary qualification/s in electrical/computer engineering or computer science
Have a minimum of 7 years of related experience designing, implementing or maintaining industrial automation
Have strong understanding of general IT principles (networking, virtualisation, MS server, SQL)
Be familiar with SCADA / PLC / Automation principles
Good project management skills, plan, quantitative and analytical abilities
Have experience with complex stakeholder management in a matrix structure
Have experience in leading a technical team and people management
Possess strong business acumen and good people skills
Passionate about challenging the status quo and continuous improvement
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Having experience in Bulk Liquid Storage industry, Petrochemical industry, or in Major Hazard Facility will be considered favourably
Having Terminal Automation System (TAS) experience is ideal
Able to travel interstate when required
