Data Steward - Responsible Banking Tribe
Multiple Roles Available at multiple Levels

**Location**: Melbourne

Data Stewards utilise data governance processes to ensure data is available for use, fit for purpose and delivering the intended value. Data stewards have a specialist role that incorporates processes, policies, guidelines and responsibilities for administering data in compliance with policy and/or regulatory obligations.

The Customer Resolution & Remediation Portfolio drives ANZ's fair treatment of customers through effective complaint resolution and remediation, as well as promoting education and product management uplift and customer and community advocacy. This role sits within the Remediation team who focuses on execution of customer remediation activity for our Australian Retail and Commercial customers.

What will your day look like
Consult with customer-remediation squads across ANZ, offering advice and insight on the capabilities of the data-enablement functions within the Responsible Banking Tribe
Support key data platform and/or data scheduling jobs to perform triage / level 1 & 2 support
Manage technical incidents and prepare/send end-user communications
Reconcile data to ensure completeness and accuracy
Manage software environments; recycle passwords, manage software/code deployments & data refresh activities and facilitate the creation of project environments as required
Perform data analysis across different Tribes in order to support individual missions of squads
Proactively analyse data to identify integrity issues
Effectively escalate issues to SME's as required
Source and wrangle data from a variety of sources (Oracle, Big Data [Hadoop] platforms, enterprise data assets, core mainframe systems) to combine, synthesise, analyse and generate insights
Mature the Data Chapter in Responsible Banking by educating and coaching peers on data steward techniques and principles
Continuously identify and implement initiatives to achieve 'Data Steward Best Practice'
What will you bring?
Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple geographies with diverse colleagues/stakeholders across multiple levels of management
Ability to translate business-speak to technical-speak and back again
A healthy balance of ANZ Product and business process knowledge combined with solid technical data-mining abilities
Hands-on knowledge and experience with some of the tools and techniques for data governance, analysis and manipulation (such as SQL & other scripting tools, Excel, Python, Unix, SAS, Oracle, Big Data/Hadoop, Qlikview, batch schedulers and the Atlassian suite of tools - JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket etc.)
An ability to learn new solutions running on new platforms so as to competently and independently troubleshoot technical issues
A desire to lead and co-ordinate small working groups to automate/streamline ineffective processes
Strong ability to translate data insights into practical business recommendations
Experience and comfort working in an Operations / Support environment
Strong coaching & mentoring skills
Exposure to Agile working methodologies
