As Principal Analyst (Rail Planning), you'll be at the forefront of shaping the strategic direction of rail planning through robust modelling, forecasting, and data analysis.Some of your responsibilities will include: - Develop and maintain rail demand forecasting tools to incorporate the latest data sources, statistical methods, and predictive modeling techniques to provide accurate insights into future demand patterns. Provide planning and project teams guidance on the selection and utilisation of appropriate modeling and analysis tools for their specific projects. Foster a culture of continuous learning within the Strategic Rail Branch by mentoring staff members in data analysis techniques and tools. Build relationships with key stakeholders externally and within the department and collaborate to develop shared capabilities in modeling, forecasting, and data analysis. Provide advice on data analysis matters to support high-level decision-making processes. Contribute to the preparation of ministerial correspondence, reports, briefing notes, cabinet submissions, and other official communications on behalf of senior executives.
