**Position No**: 113/2024
**Work Type**: Permanent - Full Time
- Rare opportunity for a permanent communications role in Western Australia's lifestyle capital, Mandurah.
- Deliver strategic communications campaigns for one of WA's largest local governments and help innovate our communications and marketing.
- Work by water with a sense of purpose and be a part of a strategic communications team with energy, respect, fun and who have a focus on culture-building.

At the City of Mandurah, we're building a thriving city connected to its people and nature, delivering possibility for everyone. From the exciting evolution of our waterfronts to our strategic communications approach, Mandurah is transforming. Come and be part of the change.

Our strategic communications team sits at the heart of the organisation, part of the Office of the CEO, and with the engaged support of our Mayor. We're an organisation that values communications skills, supports professional development, and offers a genuine sense of purpose. All in the beautiful surroundings of Australia's top tourist town.

**But enough about us, let's talk about you**

As a Strategic Communications Specialist you help elevate the City's brand and reputation. Along with four other specialists, you take ownership of the development, management and evaluation of a portfolio of strategic internal and external communications activities as part of the City's upcoming strategic communications framework.

You are an accomplished and experienced communications professional, comfortable using digital and traditional tactics to reach a varied set of local audiences and you do so with a constructive, collaborative and fun approach.

You'll be joining a new team who are embarking on an exciting journey to redefine how we run the communications function at the City, and you recognise what a positive opportunity that offers you to help build and be part of something really special.

You'll be comfortable developing communications plans that engage local communities, and building internal relationships, and you'll enjoy the process of connecting those two stakeholder groups through your innovative work.

You thrive on variety. At the City you could work on everything from the massive Crab Fest event, to infrastructure projects, to the Mandurah Arts Festival, to internal communications plans. Diversity in your work is important to you, as is connecting with your colleagues and building trusted internal relationships.

And, you embrace and understand the need for change. The way you design and deliver communications plans today will be different from how you did it three years ago. You might be using AI as a tool, or be investigating new digital solutions, but you are comfortable with the shifting landscape of communications and marketing, and feel energised by its potential.

**What you will bring to the team**
- A genuine and heartfelt desire to be part of, and actively contribute to a positive and supportive culture.
- Degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or business or similar.
