**Who are we looking for?**

We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant - Science to join Faculty Operations, Faculty of Science, Academic Division.

The Laboratory Assistant role delivers essential support to staff within the Chemistry and Physical Sciences Technical Services team to achieve effective, safe, and sustainable operations in a range of laboratory facilities. This position is required to develop effective working relationships across a broad range of faculty and university communities, as well as contributing to the ongoing improvement of work processes.

**What you need to succeed**

1. Completion of an associate diploma, with subsequent relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training, preferably in a laboratory or industry research environment.
2. Proven ability to prioritise tasks and work collaboratively to achieve team-based outcomes in a changing environment.
3. Demonstrated ability to provide quality client service.
4. Proven ability to analyse, adapt and problem solve.
5. Demonstrated ability to connect and collaborate with a range of diverse groups (including those whose first language is other than English), and work effectively within a team in a demanding and high paced environment.
6. Proven ability in the use of correct manual handling techniques and/or physical aids, and maintain and support an effective health and safety culture.
7. Hold a current C-class driver licence.
