**What You Will Be Working On**
As a Resource Recovery Advisor, you will drive transformative changes in waste management and sustainability, including but not limited to:
- **Waste Management Research and Compliance**: Undertake in-depth research and investigations related to waste management practices, contractual arrangements, landfill licensing, and environmental compliance. Assist in ensuring compliance with the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2007 and other relevant legislation and policies.
- **Project Management and Technical Support**: Develop project/contractor briefs and provide technical support for waste management projects, including documentation, specifications, invoice approval, and records management. Collaborate with the Circular Economy Education Officer to create educational material addressing waste management issues and sustainability strategies.
- **Compliance and Reporting**: Oversee compliance aspects related to the DWER landfill license conditions, including reporting, allowable materials and quantities, and landfill levy reporting. Monitor and report on levels of waste disposal and recycling within the City, ensuring compliance with industry standards and indicators. Compile data and complete reporting processes around the National Pollution Inventory and National Greenhouse Energy and Reporting Act for the landfill site.
**What Type Of Person Will Be Successful**
You are someone with an extensive understanding of:
- Extensive understanding of waste related regulations, including but not limited to, the Environmental Protection Act 1986 and the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2007.
- Demonstrated knowledge and implementation of best practice waste management techniques, around Collections and Landfill management.
- Sound knowledge of compliance and reporting requirements in relation to waste management facilities, including landfill sites.
