Job DescriptionSGS are seeking a Chemist to join the team on Curtis Island for a 6 – 12-month contract.
Ideally, the candidate will be based in Gladstone, however, we are open to considering candidates based in Brisbane.Key responsibilities will include however not limited to:Operate, calibrate, and conduct routine maintenance of analytical instruments with a high degree of precision.
Skills with the following instruments are considered essential:Gas ChromatographyIon ChromatographyAuto TitratorsUV/Vis PhotometrySir GalahadMaintain laboratory records in a systematic and logical manner.
Specifically, maintain calibration records, analytical results, test reports, and maintenance records in LIMS system.Generate custom trend data and reports using a combination of LIMS and MS Office programs.Safely operate plant sampling stations for liquefied hydrocarbons, low- and high-pressure hydrocarbon gases, cryogenic liquids and hazardous aqueous liquids.Interpret piping and instrumentation diagrams and obtain process status to safely configure appropriate sample collection equipment.QualificationsThe sussessful candidate will have the following:Tertiary qualification in Chemistry or related discipline (desirable)Minimum of 2 years' experience in laboratory with particular experience in sampling and analytical testing of liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons or similarAdditional InformationWHY WORK FOR SGS?
