About the Role

WorkPac are seeking a Analytical Chemist on behalf of our client, you will manage and maintain critical laboratory instruments while supporting the daily operations of a busy research lab. Working alongside experienced scientists, you'll further develop your analytical skills, gain troubleshooting experience, and may also contribute to project-based research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain key analytical instruments (ion chromatography, carbon analyser, potentiometric titrator)
• Monitor instrument performance using QA tools such as control charts and logbooks
• Troubleshoot equipment and assist in resolving performance or data issues
• Support laboratory safety and implement process improvements
• Manage spare parts and consumables
• Perform general laboratory and facilities upkeep
• Assist with proficiency testing activities (e.g., sample splitting)
• Contribute to supervised technical projects as capacity allows

Skills and Experience Required:

• Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field
• 2–3 years' experience in an analytical laboratory
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of QA/QC processes and statistical analysis
• Proficiency in MS Office, SharePoint, and Excel (including macros)
• Valid C Class Licence
