**About the Department**

The department provides physiotherapy (PT), occupational therapy (OT), and speech pathology (SP) services to patients of the Women's and encompasses the clinical streams of Women's health, Maternity, and Neonatal care. The department is part of the Allied Health and Clinical Services (AH&CSS) directorate. It aims to significantly contribute to the empowerment and enrichment of exceptional care at the Women's. Its focus is on improving health outcomes, quality of life and participation in a meaningful life where functional, biopsychosocial, and safety concerns exist. Areas of need include (but are not limited to): physical function (esp. with pelvic floor disorders), movement, sensory difficulties, functional cognition, participation in occupations, quality of speech, feeding/swallowing, communication, and equipment provision.

**Your contribution**

This is a leadership and management role across three allied health therapies. It actively contributes to the effective leadership of strategic planning, change management and implementation for the department and allied health at the Women's. It leads and organises high-quality operational and clinical governance for the team and ensures that professional governance obligations and expectations are met or exceeded for the three disciplines. Lastly, a further dimension of the role is in collaborative stakeholder engagement and networking (both internally and externally to the Women's), and includes supporting innovation, evidence-based practice expansions, change management, and research and evaluation projects.

Your duties will include (but are not limited to) the following:

- Provide clear and competent clinical, operational and professional governance across the three disciplines
- Monitor and, where necessary, improve patient experience, safety and quality in delivery of evidence-based care for our patient populations and their families
- Lead with a reflective style to bring out the best performance in individuals and the multidisciplinary team both within the department and across services at the Women's
- Identify and manage risks in a timely way, seeking support and escalating where appropriate
- Contribute to, and in some situations, take responsibility for leading service planning, strategic enhancements of the department, change management, innovation and collaborations.

**About you**

To be successful within this role you will need to have:
**_ Experience/Qualifications/Competencies_**
- Relevant undergraduate/qualifying degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy as recognised by the relevant national board.
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant clinical area, or public health, business management, health administration, project management, and/or leadership.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without restrictions.
