Job Summary
We are seeking a forward-thinking finance professional to join our Financial Services team as a Finance Business Partner / Accountant. As a trusted advisor, you will play a hands-on role in delivering high-level financial analysis and insights that drive strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver high-level financial analysis and insights that drive strategic planning.
Build interactive dashboards and visual reporting tools to inform business decisions.
Partner with directorates to optimise budget outcomes and guide long-term financial planning.
Play a hands-on role in the development, testing, and implementation of ERP systems.
Lead initiatives to enhance financial processes, reporting systems, and work practices.
Train and support colleagues and Councillors in financial management and corporate systems.
Requirements:
CPA or CA membership and tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business.
At least 5 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within a complex or government environment.
Strong knowledge of the Local Government Act and Australian Accounting Standards.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — you can translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, plus experience with BI tools and ERP systems.
A strategic mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
