OverviewJoin to apply for the Mechanical Fitter role at UGL.As a key player in the Defence industry, UGL supports the Australian Defence Force across 100 locations nationwide, delivering operations and maintenance, asset management and fuel supply services.We are expanding our Operations & Maintenance team at Pearce RAAF Base, Perth WA, and seek experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our workforce.
This is an opportunity to work in the Australian Defence environment on a long-term, outcomes-focused contract.The Role — Reporting to a Maintenance Supervisor, based at Pearce RAAF Base with occasional regional travel across WA.
You will be part of a core crew of UGL technicians.
Responsibilities
Perform scheduled maintenance and service of fuel installation assets and equipment
Diagnostics and repair in a breakdown environment of fuel-related assets and equipment
Project work as required on the fuel installation and related assets and equipment
Support subcontracted work packages as required
Support various sites in the region with occasional travel to sites throughout WA
Rates and Benefits
Rates as of 1st July 2025 for Maintenance Trades (Mechanical):
Level 1 – $47.07 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
Level 2 – $50.67 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
Level 3 (Dual Trade) – $54.28 Plus Super & Tool Allowance ($36.43 Weekly)
What you Need
You will be a strong team player, a self-starter and dedicated employee who can deliver high quality outcomes for UGL and our customer.
The following qualifications and experience are expected:
Trade qualified (mechanical) with relevant post-trade experience
Proven experience in fixed plant maintenance, ideally fuel services or Oil & Gas
Experience in the defence fuels network or defence industry is highly regarded
Confined space and working at heights tickets are highly regarded
Safety-conscious mindset
Currently hold, or ability to obtain, appropriate Defence Security Clearance
