**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The Executive Assistant to the General Manager is an exciting opportunity to provide executive and administrative support to the General Manager whilst ensuring efficient coordination of relevant Council programs whilst working in a highly confidential and complex political environment.

The successful applicant will require:
- Demonstrated ability to work within a challenging environment and make decisions or resolve issues autonomously based on organisational policy and standards
- Appropriate executive secretarial qualifications and/or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated and proven experience in providing high level and high quality executive level support
- Demonstrated ability to analyse situations quickly and accurately, develop innovative solutions and recommendations to resolve problems
- Strong communication skills including collaboration, negotiation, influencing and conflict resolution
- Strong administrative, organisational and time management skills including the ability to prioritise effectively, exercise judgement and make sound decisions
- Advanced interpersonal skills and the ability to act independently and manage confidential matters
- Strong computer skills including the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Outlook and Technology One records management system
- Ability to balance conflicting priorities and to work to deadlines
- Supports productive relationships with a demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently and with people at all levels
- High-level written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate and liaise effectively and sensitively at all levels, both internally and externally
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Excellent diplomacy/public relations skills
- Availability to work flexible working hours and at different locations as required.

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.
This role is predominantly located at Council's Merrylands and Auburn offices, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations.
**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 12 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,705.18 to $1,960.96 per week plus 10.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
