Design Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
**Design Assistant** to join a dynamic team at FINE-DAY.

This role will be responsible for providing administrative and design support to the Design Team. Further responsibilities include assisting with design briefs, product illustration, range creation, maintenance of organisational systems and general administrative duties as required.

**THE ROLE**
- Assist with monthly product development, including research and sketching
- Sketch or generate technical designs using Illustrator or 3D modelling software
- Assist in collating and annotating supplier handover documentation, working closely with Designer and Product technologist
- Liaise with suppliers throughout product development process
- Attend fit sessions and sample reviews
- Manage development, selection and approval of packaging, labelling and trims
- Analysis of product as requested
- Maintain and update working range sheets for all categories
- Maintain Style File documents from working range sheets
- Assist in ensuring that relevant samples are handed over to Public Relations by relevant deadline to maximise exposure and editorial opportunities
- Assist with presentation of monthly range to Visual Merchandising and PR

**THE REQUIREMENTS**
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent in Textile, Fashion or Industrial Design
- Previous experience in a similar role (Preferred but not essential)
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Competent knowledge and working understanding of product construction.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience liaising with offshore vendors a plus
- Ability to successfully multi-task and contribute to a dynamic team environment
- Ability to work autonomously and proactively
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
- Experience with Solidworks a plus.
