**Role Summary**:
The Manager HSE Operations is a newly created opportunity in our Health, Safety and Environment team based at our Perth CBD office.

The purpose of the role is to lead, direct and provide Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management for Synergy's operational activities and problem solve and respond to HSE issues across all Synergy sites, to ensure a consistent and effective approach to Health, Safety and Environmental performance.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Lead a diversely based team to implement and promote Synergy's corporate, HSE management system to support strong employee and contractor safety and environmental practices, behaviours, and outcomes
- Manage HSE on site consultants and contractors and ensure works meet required standards
- Manage all HSE incident responses and investigations and manage implementation of corrective actions
- Manage all initiatives under the EMS including environmental training, audits and development of improvement plans and processes.
- Liaise with external regulators, industries, industry bodies, organisations on HSE issues and programs

**What you'll bring**:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in health, safety, environmental or occupational health and safety is essential
- Formal training and qualification in auditing and incident investigation
- Significant experience (15+ years minimum) in health, safety and environmental management of heavy industry business, preferably power station assets or similar.
- Strong track record of health, safety and environmental stewardship, compliance, and practice development
- Facilitation of hazard identification and risk assessment processes such as team-based risk assessments and hazard and operability studies (HAZOP)
