The Operating Division comprises two business units: Qube Logistics and Infrastructure and Qube Ports and Bulk.About the rolePosition:Qualified Train DriverLocation: West Melbourne, VICStatus: CasualThe primary objective of the Train Driver position is to drive locomotives and operate trains safely and efficiently in accordance with QLRS, track access provider, regulator and siding owner rules and procedures.Duties include:Fulfil train operations requirements in a timely, safe, efficient and punctual mannerParticipate in training, briefing sessions and toolbox talks associated with safe and efficient train operationsDemonstrate and disseminate a positive safety culture throughout all levels of the business and operationsComply with and promote the QLRS Safety Management SystemMentor and encourage training for trainee train driversComply with procedures, work instructions, operating protocols and rules in order to deliver safe and efficient train operationsEnsure that the relevant persons are notified of all category A and B rail safety incidents in accordance with QLRS SMSMentor other train drivers and trainee train drivers in train handling and fuel conservation strategiesConduct shunting and train inspections in accordance with company procedures and work instructionsPromote QLRS in all forums to raise the organisation's profile within industryEncourage the process of a 'just culture' throughout the organisationAbout YouTLI42615 Certificate IV in Train DrivingCertificate in train operations and relevant AQF qualification from the current training packageClear and concise written and oral communication skills.Knowledge of safe working requirements on all routes, mainlines, terminals and sidings.Work collaboratively and harmoniously as a part of a teamAbility to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environmentMust be fit for work with a good level of fitness and general healthUp to 50% off gyms, studios, active wear, healthy meals, supplements, recovery and more through the Qube Fit program.Discounted health insuranceSpecial paid leave to participate in volunteering activitiesUnlimited access to employee assistance program delivered through SonderGenerous paid parental leave for eligible employeesOngoing learning, development, and training opportunities for employeesQube recognises the value of an inclusive and diverse work environment.
