ABOUT SYSTEM 2

At System 2, we believe society's most complex social problems can be addressed if we consider them through a behavioural lens. We use behavioural science, which brings together ideas from a range of interrelated disciplines about how individuals make decisions in practice, to tackle problems. Using data and evidence-based research we design solutions which enable people to make better choices for themselves and society.

System 2 works alongside funders, academics, communities and delivery organisations to diagnose problems, develop practical solutions, and generate new evidence of what works to positively change outcomes.

System 2 is part of a global group which includes the world's leading behavioural science organisation The Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) and which is part of NESTA an independent innovation charity for social good in the UK.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE EXECUTIVE OFFICER

As the Executive Officer of System 2 you will be responsible for the following outcomes
- Successful set up of System 2 and a clear plan for future impact
- Robust and effective governance with the System 2 board
- Securing funding and financial stability
- Excellence in project and service delivery
- Developing a positive workplace culture
- Building Systems 2's reputation as a respected partner and a trusted voice

Given the nature of this role, we are really interested in hearing from people with the following experience:

- Setting up an initiative with limited pre-existing structures / systems in place e.g. a large new project, a new entity
- Working well with multiple executive stakeholders internal and external
- Developing and managing complex programs of work
- Developing and taking to market new products / services
- Developing pricing models and managing budgets
- Building positive long term partnerships with funders, clients, delivery partners and suppliers
- Converting interest from a potential partner, into a viable funded project or program

As System 2 is a start up, the organisation will be pretty lean for the first 12 months, but you won't be alone. You will work with one or two other direct team members and the Board, and be part of a collaboration of behavioural science experts, delivery partners, academics, other intermediaries and funding partners.
