Director, Consulting & Information Governance
TransPerfect Legal is seeking a motivated and strategically minded lawyer to join our expert team as a Consultant. In this role, you'll be a trusted advisor to Australia's leading law firms and corporate legal departments, helping them navigate complex legal matters by leveraging cutting-edge technology. This is a client-facing advisory role that sits at the intersection of law, business, and technology.
What You'll Do
Provide Strategic Consulting:
Advise clients on best practices for eDiscovery, digital forensics, and data management in high-stakes litigation, regulatory inquiries, and internal investigations.
Bridge Law and Technology:
Translate complex legal challenges into practical, technology-driven workflows using GenAI, Technology-Assisted Review (TAR), and data visualisation platforms.
Cultivate Client Relationships:
Work with our Business Development team and serve as a key point of contact for clients, building long-term partnerships and identifying opportunities to provide strategic value.
Innovate and Educate:
Stay ahead of emerging legal technology trends and educate clients and colleagues on new solutions that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and save costs.
What You'll Bring
You're a Lawyer:
You hold a current Australian practising certificate or are admitted as a lawyer in an Australian jurisdiction.
You Have Practical Experience:
A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in litigation, disputes, or a related field within a law firm or in-house legal team.
You're a Problem Solver:
A genuine passion for technology and a strong desire to transition your career from traditional legal practice to a consultative role.
You're a Great Communicator:
Ability to clearly articulate complex legal and technical concepts to diverse audiences and build strong client relationships.
Bonus Points:
Prior experience with eDiscovery platforms (e.g., Relativity) or demonstrated interest in legal technology.
