**The Role**

We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer (SHADS level 5) who will be joining an established team to support with the delivery of housing services to assist those in need.

You will be engaged on a temporary contract initially, with the potential for permanency and enjoy a hybrid working arrangement.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Manage key tenancy processes and activities, including process improvement
- Identify and assess potential renters
- Providing information, advice and assistance to customers regarding their housing options
- Ensure clients sufficiently understand their rights and responsibilities as a tenant
- Prepare all documentation for and represent the Agency at VCAT hearings
- Maintain relationships with renters and ensure their homes are maintained to a high standard of condition/cleanliness

**About You***

To be successful, you will bring prior social work experience preferably in the community housing sector; coupled with a desire to work in the not-for-profit sector. You will possess relevant skills, as outlined below:

- Degree or diploma in community service, social sciences, social housing management or a similar discipline
- Experience in tenancy and/or residential property management highly desirable
- Experience or knowledge in working with people that are at risk of homelessness or have other complex issues
- Thorough knowledge of the Victorian Residential Tenancies Act 1997 and the wider housing policy/community housing sector
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong system skills
