Position Information
Cecil Hills High School is a comprehensive coeducational high school in a growth area of south-west Sydney.
The student enrolment of over 1400 students (Year 7 to Year 12) includes 85% of students from a non-English speaking background.
The school proudly has a support unit consisting of five classes.
The main languages spoken at home are Vietnamese, Arabic and Serbian.
We have 1% of students who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.
The school is expected to experience significant enrolment growth into the future.
The proposed Western Sydney Airport is in the school's drawing area and will provide significant employment and training links for our school when constructed.
A major site rebuild in 2024/ 2025 will see an expansion of current facilities, along with the development of a new block with state of the art classrooms.
The school's permanent staffing entitlement in 2025 is 107 teachers and 21 non-teaching staff.
The school employs additional teachers to provide a range of learning and welfare supports.
The school executive is comprised of 4 deputy principals and 16 head teachers, including dedicated positions for professional practice, literacy and beginning teacher mentoring.
Our SASS leaders include 2 SAMs and a Business Manager.
The school fosters an outstanding reputation for quality teaching and learning, excellent discipline and a productive learning environment, with a history of academic success and high expectations in all curriculum areas.

Specific Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Industrial Technology Timber and Technology Mandatory (7-8).
The ability to engage diverse learners in a practical work spaces ensuring a safe environment for all students.
Well-developed Interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships with staff, students and the community.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.

Applicants are to include details of their WWCC clearance number as part of this application.
Applicants seeking either permanent full time or permanent part time employment are encouraged to apply for this position.
If the recommended applicant is seeking permanent part time employment (FTE from 0.1 to 0.9 inclusive), they will be offered an appointment at their desired FTE.
Applicants on the eligibility list will be offered the remaining FTE but are not obliged to accept.
