Senior Facilities Technician

The opportunity:
Our team in Sydney has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Facilities / Maintenance Technician to join the team on a permanent basis.
In this role you'll step into the team and play an integral role in servicing our Fitness First and Barrys Bootcamp clubs in the Sydney areas to ensure the facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard, providing both a safe and functional environment for both our members and team.
In this Senior Facilities Technician position, you will have the chance to build strong working relationships and rapport with our club managers as their first contact for all maintenance activities whilst mentoring our junior team members.
This is a fast-paced environment where no two days will be the same.
One day you will attend clubs to complete logged maintenance jobs assigned on a priority basis.
On another day you could be fixing a piece of gym equipment in the morning and patching a wall or changing a light fixture at another club that afternoon.

Key duties and responsibilities:
* Complete planned and reactive maintenance work orders as per club visit schedules and agreed service levels.
* Raise proactive work orders during site visits.
* Coordinate landlord requests and escalate when required.
* Build strong relationships and maintain open communication with club staff, contractors, property managers, and the Facilities team.
* Manage contractors to deliver work on time, to budget, and within scope.
* Provide regular work order updates and timelines to club managers, the Facilities team, and other stakeholders.
* Order required parts and materials.
* Support and coordinate onsite projects or work as part of project teams.
* Conduct periodic club facility inspections.
* Escalate high-priority work orders in line with FLG procedures.
* Follow all occupational health & safety requirements during maintenance work.
* Seek approval for work order costs over the set delegation of authority (DOA) and escalate through the management chain when necessary.
* Attend toolbox talks and actively contribute to FLG's safety culture.
To be successful in this role you will:
* Be a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding role
* Have effective communication skills both written and verbal and natural ability to build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
* Have strong organisational and prioritisation skills and be comfortable working autonomously
* Be confident managing and coordinating external contractors
* Have a passion for the fitness industry and a willingness to learn
Skills/experience:
Essential
* Experience as a Facilities / Maintenance Technician
* Experience maintaining and working from a maintenance log system such as Service Now or Jira
* Australian driver's license and clean driving record
* Experience mentoring junior team members
Desirable
* Experience repairing gym equipment
* Mechanical/electrical trades qualifications
* WHS Construction White Card
