Overview
dnata Perth Airport, Western Australia, Australia is hiring a Chef in a permanent, full-time position. Join a winning global brand and market leader in aviation catering and retail.
What does a typical day look like?
Bring culinary skills to a dedicated team of craftspeople, curating and presenting restaurant-quality meals for 40,000ft service. In the Production Team, you will work in a busy open-plan kitchen preparing and cooking various international hot and cold meals in commercial quantities for our customer airlines.
What are your main responsibilities?
Prepare hot and cold meals for Business & Economy class passengers for International and Domestic airline customers.
Manage multiple menus and bulk-prepare dishes for up to 10,000 passengers.
Stock control and minimising food wastage.
Ensure taste, consistency and presentation are at the highest standard.
Maintain a strictly hygienic work environment at all times.
Use proper techniques such as cook-chill methods for safe intermittent food storage.
Follow menu specifications as well as Food Safety / HACCP & OHS guidelines.
What do you need to be successful in securing this role?
Minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent industry experience.
Solid knife skills, knowledge of cooking principles and techniques.
Passion and drive to deliver high-quality, consistent food to customers.
Ability to work a 7-day rotating roster.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Motivated, hardworking attitude.
Ability to work under pressure in a busy kitchen and meet deadlines.
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred but not essential.
Clear National Police Check is required due to working in Aviation Services.
Availability to work 38 hours/week (full-time permanent).
