Reporting to the Manager, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering land acquisition projects for educational facilities throughout Victoria in close collaboration with the Land Acquisition team, whilst managing site-related issues in accordance with the specified timeframes for delivering the Government's scheduled dates for opening new schools.

This role sits within the Delivery team, where team members collaborate to deal responsively with a range of high-volume, high-impact projects.

Reporting to the Manager, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for delivering land acquisition projects for educational facilities throughout Victoria in close collaboration with the Land Acquisition team, whilst managing site-related issues in accordance with the specified timeframes for delivering the Government's scheduled dates for opening new schools.

The scope of work includes site-suitability investigations, valuation, negotiating with landholders (which may include developers, private individuals, other government agencies and local government authorities), ensuring compliance with relevant policies and guidelines, and negotiating contracts of sale and other relevant legal agreements as well as managing compulsory acquisitions.

The role would suit someone with well-developed interpersonal skills and strong experience in working collaboratively as part of a team.

The main responsibilities for this position as followers;
- Uses persuasion and negotiation skills to influence key stakeholders
- Ensures project objectives are met by producing detailed project plans, identifying logical next steps and monitoring the progress of project team members
- Manages project risks by producing risk registers with risk treatments and risk controls, and regularly monitors their likelihood of eventuation by producing risk reports
- Identifies and proposes workable solutions to problems
- Implements solutions, evaluates effectiveness and adjusts actions as required
- Liaises with stakeholders
- Seeks all relevant information for problem-solving
- Demonstrated experience in negotiating property agreements including contracts of sale, leases and licences
- Demonstrated experience in managing issues relating to land development including contamination, geotechnical, servicing, cultural heritage and flora and fauna
- Demonstrated knowledge of broader project inputs including land titles system, planning system and valuations
