The Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program (BHTSP) is an infrastructure safety initiative. We're building a continuous applicant pool to support this program. The first round of recruitment will close on 24 September 2025. The Australian and Queensland governments have committed funding to reduce crash severity and frequency on the Bruce Highway, with completion target by 2030. Project priorities are guided by the Bruce Highway Advisory Council and government partners, with a corridor-wide fatigue management strategy informing rest area and stopping place upgrades.

The Role
In the role of Engineer (Civil), with supervision and guidance from senior engineering staff, you will project manage the planning and delivery of road infrastructure projects through contract administration and provision of technical expertise and support to planning, design, construction and maintenance processes. You will ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management and process development.
Some of Your Responsibilities
Assist in selecting the most suitable contract process for project delivery and administer the contract to ensure compliance and successful delivery.
Assist the TMR Area Engineer for a local government with the delivery of Road Maintenance Performance Contracts within the District to meet time, cost, safety and quality requirements.
Determine appropriate bridge and road maintenance procedures, work instructions and manage road and bridge maintenance tasks.
Determine appropriate bridge and road functional layouts to support long-term road network objectives.
Calculate quantities of materials, analyse test results, identify non-conformances, determine controls during construction and conduct risk assessment.
Under supervision, manage projects or elements of projects, provide support on planning and design to ensure value for money and best practice, ensure quality management procedures are followed and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
Liaise with local government and service authorities to develop solutions within the road network.
Identify potential problem areas and negotiate design changes where necessary to achieve acceptance.
