The Resourcing & Readiness Unit (RRU) within the SES State Operations Branch is responsible for managing the SES fleet, equipment, assets and facilities to manage service delivery and provides support in the development of policy, procedures and strategies to enhance operation outcomes for business as usual and SES future state.
**Purpose of the role**:
Reporting to the Principal Program Officer (Resourcing), this position will be primarily responsible for the coordination and development of new flood boat and trailer specifications so that SES may proceed to market for new Standing Offer Arrangements. You will also lead the design of SES fleet specifications for vehicles to inform future requirements of the service
You will provide advice and support through discrete programs of work including reviewing and assessing the annual fleet build program, and related fleet policies, procedures, and systems, through stakeholder engagement and relationship management from state and local government agencies.
**Key requirements of the role**:
**Highly desirable**:
- Knowledge of, or the ability to acquire knowledge of the Queensland General Goods and Services Contracting Framework and supply chain contract management.
- Knowledge and high expertise (and/or qualifications) in fleet management, systems, specifications and build.
- Knowledge of AMSA & TMR legislation
- Experience in project management or knowledge of project management methodologies, including Agile project delivery
- Experience in a volunteer environment
**Key accountabilities for the role**:
Your part in the ongoing success of our department, in supporting key frontline services will see you responsible for a variety of work, including, but not limited to:
- Lead the development of SES fleet specifications for vehicles, vessels, and trailers to inform future fleet requirements of the service.
- Assist with the planning and development of frameworks for the introduction of sustainable and contemporary fleet and asset management models to meet divergent and geographically diverse community risk profiles.
- Implement associated tasks and provide regular progress status reports to ensure quality outcomes and project deliverable are achieved.
- Plan and manage activities in accordance with best practice project methodologies to ensure that outcomes, performance indicators, deliverables and deadlines are achieved or re-prioritised for the successful delivery of program initiatives.
- Liaise, consult and negotiate with key stakeholders, clients and vendors to ensure appropriate solutions and procurement are responsive to current and future fleet needs for the delivery and monitoring of agreed outcomes.
- Represent SES in meetings and working groups relating to the design and procurement of fleet assets to ensure a consistent approach to planning and operational capability.
- Work effectively in a professional working environment, fostering teamwork and encourage staff commitment and innovation, including actively participating in performance and development programs.
