Full training will be provided for you to perform the following in your role.
Duties of an Mortuary Assistant include: Perform body preparation procedures such as manoeuvring, lifting, washing, dressing, suturing, and setting facial features for all cases to InvoCare standards and follow workplace procedures for hygiene and infection control Encoffin and present the deceased to InvoCare standards and according to family requests Handle deceased with dignity, care and respect at all times Accurately complete mortuary registration and checking procedures Maintain, clean and sterilise mortuary facilities and equipment Perform coffin/casket trimming and engraving Organise time efficiently and monitor daily workflow Monitor stock levels and order as directed Participate in day-to-day operational tasks such as attending funerals, transfers, viewings, driving vehicles, and keeping work areas clean and tidy About you: Be at ease working within a funeral, cemetery and crematoria environment Sensitivity, along with comfort to circumstances involving grieving people, and their values and beliefs.
An understanding of the funeral service industry and its operations, or ability to rapidly acquire industry knowledge Experience in a mortuary or similar environment desirable An ability to be customer-focused, and to communicate and respond effectively to all levels of the public.
