**DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develops, coaches, counsels and directs Meat Department personnel. Provides feedback to promote teamwork and accountability among employees. Monitors Meat Department employee performance and participates in performance reviews as needed. Implements and upholds proper Meat Department and general safety procedures and standards.
- Leads, provides training, encouragement, advice and feedback to meat department employees. Coordinates activities and breaks for meat department personnel.
- Upholds and teaches Costco Meat Department policies and procedures.
- Determines production requirements. Checks quality and consistency of finished merchandise. Oversees merchandise presentation and merchandising.
- Carries out and ensures employee participation in Meat Manager's plan for sales and merchandising. Participates in meat cutting.
- Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position. Completes and complies with with 11 Commandments of Quality Assurance, Food Safety Certification and all safety training required by warehouse and meat department.
- Reviews sanitation log and checks for health code compliance.
- Assists with physical inventory as needed.
- Performs routine maintenance for machinery and equipment. Informs manager of equipment repairs needed.
- Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees and vendors.
- Assists in other areas of the warehouse as necessary.
**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:
- Communication - Clearly articulates information, verbally and in writing, about services and merchandise in a way that can be easily understood by employees, members & suppliers.
- Member Service - Exhibits a professional demeanour towards others and is able to maintain composure and make appropriate decisions while under stress. Provides member service in a prompt and effective manner while following company policies and procedures. Is proactive and reacts quickly and appropriately in identifying problems, finding solutions and making sound decisions that reflect the applicant's position and Costco's Code of Ethics. Develops employees by providing constructive feedback about performance, teaching employees how to correctly and safely perform their tasks, and addressing problems or conflicts that arise.
- Self Motivated - Well organised and able to identify and prioritise tasks that need to be completed and delegate as appropriate. Ability to multi-task and adhere to deadlines while working independently with mínimal supervision.
- Team Player - Relates well with a variety of personalities and individuals by participating in a professional manner to accomplish business goals. Empowers and leads employees. Delegates responsibilities effectively.
- Flexibility - Adjusts positively to a change in direction or assignment. Is able to multi-task as needed. Adjusts work schedule as needed to meet the needs of the business
- MUST BE OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE
- MUST BE ABLE TO SHOW PROOF OF RIGHT TO WORK IN AUSTRALIA
- SUPERVISOR EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
- MUST HAVE A BUTCHER TRADE QUALIFICATION
