We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Packaging Systems Technician to join the Opal Packaging team at Hastings.

We manufacture goods that you see, touch and use every day and our customer base includes some of the biggest names in FMCG, Retail and Fresh Produce.

The main objective of the role is to maintain, repair and retool plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, with a focus on upholding safety and maximising production at our customer's sites.

You will contribute to the success of Opal by:

- Maintenance, servicing and retooling of our packaging systems machines
- Ensuring the machinery is safe, reliable and efficient
- Providing the sales team and customers with technical advice, equipment and product
- support
- Operating across New Zealand or North/ South Island
- Participate in rotating call out and shifts during times of peak seasonal demand and as
- required

Specifically for this role, we expect you will have;
- Strong trade qualified skills (electrical, or pneumatic experience advantageous)
- Good fitting, fabrication and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and communication skills (written and oral)
- Customer service focused
- Robust problem-solving skills
- Flexibility, initiative, and proactive
- Participate in rotating call out and shifts during peak seasonal demand and as required
