Founded in 1934 by Angelo Molteni, the Italian company was built on the foundation of tradition and craftsmanship, paving the way forward with constant research and innovation, and elite design collaborations. Their collection showcases designers from around the world, through all eras of design since their inception. Their ambition and the quality of product has firmly secured Molteni&C as leaders in the luxury furniture sector. Under the global creative direction of Vincent Van Duysen since 2016, Molteni&C remains privately held and operated by the Molteni family.
Today the Molteni Group comprises three brands and operates in over eighty countries, with Molteni&C Flagship stores located in most major cities around the world, including Milan, New York, London, Tokyo, Seoul, Dubai and now in Australia.

We are now looking to build a team who will work within the brand new showrooms on Church Street, designed by Vincent Vann Duysen's studio, alongside Molteni&C's design team. We are seeking people who will honour, understand, and proudly represent the prestige of Italian excellence in Australia's first Molteni&C Flagship store, working from the showroom spaces on Church Street.

JOB PURPOSE
As a Retail Sales Manager you will echo the brand's values and ethos by continually striving for excellence and impeccable service. You represent Molteni&C and that means building relationships at a human level with customers and Architecture & Design industry clients to become a trusted partner to bring their visions to life.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet and service our customers, as if we are welcoming guests into our home
- Be house proud and help to maintain the showroom and visual displays to the highest standard
- Build and maintain key client relationships, ensuring you proactively book meetings and regular presentations with design firms to drive business growth
- Maintain existing relationships and nurture new leads, utilising the CRM and other company tools to meet KPIs and Sales Targets
- Consciously seek out and create opportunities to engage new clients and businesses
- Be the most helpful person you can, by demonstrating extensive brand and product knowledge, and understanding of materials, process and quality that sets Molteni&C apart from competitors.
- Stay up-to-date with trends in design, with an eye on what our competitors are doing.
- Deal effectively with customer complaints and issues, proactively identifying issues with your direct reports when red flags appear.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Passion for human relationships and sales.
Problem-solving skills: the ability to proactively identify opportunities and red flags.
Confidence to take identified opportunities or issues and create action plan in order to move ahead.
Curiosity and interest in luxury retail, art and design.
Experience in building long-lasting relationships with suppliers, clients and your team.
Ability to work well in team, but not afraid of operating autonomously.
Excellent spoken and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion and knowledge of the furniture and design category.
Fluent spoken English expected, additional languages a plus.
