Key responsibilities of this role include:Provide clear instructions, hands-on training, and ongoing support to the kitchen services teamAct as the key contact between Kitchen Services and the Sous Chef or Executive Chef to ensure smooth and efficient serviceOversee the cleaning and sanitising of all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery, and glassware.
Ensure items are returned to the correct location promptly and in excellent conditionTake the lead on heavy-duty cleaning and ensure all kitchen areas meet the highest hygiene and safety standardsAssist in maintaining kitchen equipment and promptly report any hazards or faultsEnsure food safety and cleaning records are completed accurately and kept up to dateWork closely with the Operations team to fulfil equipment requisitions for events and functionsSupervise team members to ensure duties are completed efficiently, safely, and to standardManage the safe handling, storage, and distribution of kitchen equipment and suppliesSupport food preparation and kitchen clean-up as requiredReceive and correctly store food deliveries in line with hygiene standardsABOUT YOU
You have solid experience in a fast-paced kitchen, stewarding, or food handling environment and are ready to take the next step into leadershipYou're flexible and available to work across a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, and weekendsYou bring a good understanding of food hygiene, WHS, and kitchen safety proceduresYou're a team player with the confidence to lead others, provide direction, and support successYou show initiative, sound judgement, and can work independently with minimal supervisionYou're committed to delivering high-quality service and supporting your team and chefs alikeYour energy, enthusiasm, and can-do attitude help keep things running smoothlyYou take a hands-on, adaptable, and positive approach to every shiftWHY WORK WITH US?
