St Hilda's School is owned by the Diocese of Brisbane and the School Council is appointed by the Archbishop in Council. The major functions of the School Council are the appointment of the School Principal, the fixing of the annual budget and the fixing of school policy. The Principal, in the role of Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the School. All staff are responsible for carrying out their duties.

Accounts Officer

St Hilda's School seeks to appoint an experienced Accounts Officer. Reporting to the Senior Finance Officer, the successful applicant's primary role is the collection of fees and monitoring of accounts, including all matters related to billing and the recovery of outstanding monies. This involves extensive contact with parents and customers.

The Key Responsibilities of this role include (but are not limited to):
Preparation of Fee Statements
Process Receipts
Follow up of accounts and responding to all queries in a timely manner
Effectively maintain the Debtors Ledger including managing payment arrangements
Bank reconciliations (multiple accounts)
Maintain and reconcile clearing accounts
Backup to Accounts Payable Officer
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the following:
At least 3 years experience in a similar role
Well-developed communication and time management skills
Ability to work autonomously and to prioritise work
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
A sound understanding of accounting procedures
Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Previous experience using TASS in a school or college environment is highly regarded but not essential
