**The Opportunity**

We are seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as Farm Operators in Virginia, SA. Reporting directly to the Farm Manager, you will play a key role in all facets of our farming operations, from ground preparation to harvest. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic and a passion for agriculture to contribute to the success of our operations.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Operate tractors and other farming equipment for planting, cultivation, and harvesting of potatoes.
- Assist with ground preparation, including soil tilling, irrigation setup, and planting.
- Monitor crop health and assist in pest and weed management practices.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Support the harvesting process, including operating machinery and ensuring proper handling of crops.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and transporting harvested crops to storage or distribution sites.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations on the farm.
- Keep accurate records of farming activities, equipment usage, and crop yields.
- Collaborate with the farm team to meet production goals and maintain high-quality standards.

**What we are looking for**
- Proven experience operating tractors and farm machinery, preferably in potato farming or similar agricultural environments.
- Strong understanding of farming practices, including soil preparation, irrigation, and crop management.
- Ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on farming equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to monitor and maintain crop health.
- Physical fitness and stamina to work long hours in outdoor and varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- Commitment to safety and following all farm safety protocols and guidelines.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
- Previous experience in potato farming is advantageous but not required.
- Chemical Handling Certificate and Forklift licence are essential.
