Join a close-knit, family-run farm operation south of Brisbane

We're on the lookout for an experienced and motivated Farm Hand to join our growing team of two on a free range broiler chicken farm. If you have a strong background in broiler farming and a passion for animal welfare, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

About the Role

As a key member of the team, you'll support the daily operations of the farm, help maintain equipment and machinery, and ensure the property is kept in a safe, functional state. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys outdoor work and takes pride in doing the job right.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the day-to-day operations of a free range broiler chicken farm
  • Support animal health, welfare, and growth
  • Operate tractors and farm machinery safely and effectively
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs on equipment
  • Maintain paddocks, fences, and farm infrastructure

About You:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience on a broiler chicken farm (essential)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence in operating farm equipment
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a small team
  • A proactive attitude with a focus on safety and animal welfare
  • Must not own or have close contact with pet birds or pigs, due to strict biosecurity requirements

Desirable Experience (not essential but highly regarded):

  • Experience using Hired Hand controllers
  • Familiarity with RSPCA or other animal welfare audit processes
