About The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and compliance-focused
Lead Line Planner
to join our Engineering team in a pivotal leadership role. Based on a 4-on, 4-off day shift pattern, the Lead Line Planner is responsible for providing 7-day oversight of all planning activities and acting as the primary escalation point for planning-related matters. The role leads and mentors a rotating team of Planners, guiding maintenance planning outcomes through clear communication, intent-setting, and strong follow-up practices.
Reporting to the
Manager Maintenance Planning
, responsibilities for this role will include:
Identify the critical business resources (labour, material, equipment, etc.) required to deliver compliance consistently and efficiently with scheduled maintenance requirements
Provide leadership, guidance and consistently demonstrate Jetstar values to all Planning staff
Demonstrate commitment to CASA and other industry regulatory authorities that continued airworthiness management and company standards can be sustained by sound process and procedures
Drive compliance of departmental procedures
Support the continual improvement of the operation
Build and manage relationships with stakeholders within Jetstar Engineering, AMO and external MROs
Manage the training & daily competencies of the Line Planning Team
Act in higher duties where required to backfill the Manager as required to support operational requirements
Analyse maintenance performance and initiate improvement to proactive maintenance tasks to maximise equipment performance
Monitor and guide Planners to prepare maintenance plans, analyse backlogs, schedule compliance and recommend solutions for delays, balance workload, and optimise resources utilization
Prepare reports and feedback on planning performance, monitor compliance to works processes and systems for maximum plant availability
Oversee induction, training & integration of new starts into their roles
To be successful in this role, you will possess the following skills & experience:
Minimum 2 years' experience in aircraft maintenance planning or similar maintenance/airworthiness roles
Strong understanding of maintenance planning tools and port capabilities
Excellent communication, influencing, people management and leadership skills
Strong compliance knowledge and exceptional attention to detail
Understanding of MIS, OEM data, and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of PART 145 / 42 regulatory framework
Willingness to work on a rotating 12-hour day shift, 4 days on, 4 days off roster
Strong prioritising and time management skills
