The opportunity
As a Principal Research Scientist (FASTA), you will:

• Design and develop information and technology transfer products and activities that integrate the results of scientific research and meet the requirements of clients and stakeholder groups.

• Provide critical intelligence and recommendations about 'best practice' approaches and continual improvement, and foster innovation among research teams to plan and deliver high quality science and technology transfer outputs.

• Participate in industry engagement and extension activities to enhance adoption of research outputs and enable positive practice change.

• Identify synergies and match DAF's expertise in pest management science with state and industry R&D priorities and requirements for science information to assist research teams deliver quality, targeted information outputs.

• Manage and critically review science information products and engender a high standard of market access and pest management science delivery to peers, clients and stakeholders.

• Meet deadlines and manage priorities within resource and time limitations and achieve expected outcomes.

• Support the Fresh and Secure Trade Alliance (FASTA) Director and Deputy Director and provide a central point of contact for the program.

What are we looking for?
There are some qualifications that we see as essential. You must possess a degree in science, applied science or rural science from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent academic qualifications in extension.
You will have a keen eye for detail, great time management and effective problem solving skills. More than anything, you will have a positive attitude and make a great contribution to our team.
