The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for centrally coordinated strategy and policy leadership in relation to domestic national security arrangements, law enforcement, emergency management, counter-terrorism, social cohesion, the protection of our sovereignty, the integrity of our border and the resilience of our national infrastructure.

The Australian Border Force, an operationally independent body within the Department of Home Affairs, is Australia's frontline border law enforcement agency and Australia's customs service. The Australian Border Force's mission is to protect Australia's border and facilitate the legitimate movement of people and goods across it.

**Overview of the Branch and Section**:
The Workforce Management and Transformation Branch (WMTB) is responsible for driving positive cultural and workforce transformation within the Australian Border Force (ABF), ensuring the operational workforce is ready to meet the challenges of its future operating environment.

WMTB supports the ABF with its enterprise-wide strategic workforce planning, data modelling and analytics, workforce transformation and innovation. WMTB also manages awards and recognition, culture and behaviour initiatives, talent, career and workforce management, attraction and retention strategies including the Border Force Officer Recruit Trainee (BFORT) entry process, the main entry point into the ABF.

WMTB has a number of vacancies at ABF Supervisor (APS6) level across the Branch, including in the Workforce Mobilty and Recognition and Workforce Sustainment teams. Officers engage closely with the Branch executive, Regions across all ABF Commands and with the Department in performing their role.

These roles will lead teams performing critical ABF enabling functions, produce written briefings and reports, build and engage a wide range of stakeholders and provide leadership to the Postings Program, ABF Awards and Recognition Program and Workforce Sustainment objectives including BFORT recruitment programs and promoting the ABF as an employer of choice. Each role will report to an ABF Inspector in their Section and in WMTB and use their well developed leadership skills to drive a positive team culture focussed on achieving results.

**Specific duties/responsibilities**:

- Under general direction, manage a team to deliver a program of work for the ABF such as a national BFORT recruitment or Posting process including leading/coordinating a range of activities involving general administration, advertising/promotion, stakeholder engagement and prioritising workload
- Undertake analysis of ABF workforce data and team performance to inform the development of ABF workforce strategies and policy to drive innovation and address key workforce risks
- Establish and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relations and work with stakeholders to address changing organisational priorities to achieve outcomes.
- Prepare and review a range of documentation for executive clearance including but not limited to executive committee documentation, management reports and other briefing papers
- Undertaking other tasks under broad direction to support the work of the team to deliver outcomes and priorities of the branch, or ABF more broadly.
