Overview
WA College Of Agriculture - Denmark (WACOA – Denmark) is a 560 hectare working farm and educational facility for Year 10–12 students offering a wide variety of studies and industry training with an agricultural focus.
We attract students from across the state and have a capacity of around 140 students.
The college offers accredited industry training alongside secondary education, including Certificates in Agriculture and related trades, and a variety of accredited short courses each year.
Students attend shows such as the Perth Royal Show; Albany Agricultural Show and Wagin Woolarama.
Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) completion rates are high, with a vast majority of students transitioning successfully to further education and/or employment.
While the majority of students are residential, there are a number of day students and a bus service is provided to and from Albany.
The college opened its current purpose-built facility in 1999 and continues to evolve to support student outcomes.
Role
WACOA – Denmark is seeking to appoint a dedicated, and enthusiastic English teacher ideally with excellent interpersonal skills.
The successful applicant will likely teach Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) English to Year 11 and 12, Senior School General English, Year 10 English and possibly Year 10 Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS).
The successful applicant will ideally be a passionate educator, committed to making a difference in the lives of young people.

You will ideally possess strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to support the College's mission statement, values and priorities across the community.
You will have the opportunity to work effectively within a team and should possess the capacity to improve your own performance through reflective practice.
Knowledge of the English curriculum area, including Senior Secondary English, strong classroom management skills and a willingness to be part of a supportive pastoral care system will be highly regarded.
You should have patience and be willing to invest time in creating meaningful connections and relationships with students, staff and community.
Responsibilities
Teach ATAR English to Year 11 and 12, Senior School General English, Year 10 English and possibly Year 10 Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS).
Collaborate effectively within a dynamic, energetic, and experienced team and contribute to the college's mission, values and priorities.
Demonstrate strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills to support the college's pastoral care system and community.
Maintain knowledge of the English curriculum, including Senior Secondary English, and manage classrooms effectively.
Invest time in building meaningful connections with students, staff and the wider community, and engage in reflective practice to improve performance.
Qualifications and Eligibility
Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start.
Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
