**The Role**:
Are you passionate about contributing to the maintenance, repair, and technical support of major and minor fleet units within the Naval Services? Do you have experience in marine, electronic, and weapon systems? We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Ordnance Technician CIWS to join our Technical and Weapons (T&W) team at Garden Island. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team that provides essential technical solutions to Defence operations across Australia.

Responsibilities include:

- Providing Depot Level and Field Engineering services primarily for Radar Mechanical systems on RAN vessels and Establishments.
- Supporting Above Water, Underwater Weapons Systems, and Support Systems.
- Guiding junior technical staff, other trades, and contractors involved in the installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems at local and remote sites.
- Assisting and advising both internal and external customers on technical issues, ensuring rational and sustainable resolutions.
- Creating a customer-centric work environment focused on meeting the needs of both external and internal customers.
- Contributing to minor projects and tasks, including providing technical direction, progress reporting, and associated project activities.
- Preparing technical reports and procedures to support Above Water and Underwater Weapons Systems, Support Systems.
- Participating in sea acceptance trials and conducting "at sea" system alignment and defect investigations as needed.

**About you?**
- Completion of 12 appropriate modules of a National Diploma, 12 appropriate modules of an Advanced Diploma, or equivalent qualifications.
- Possession of a valid Class C Driver's License.
- Physical capability to work in a shipboard environment, including climbing ladders, masts, confined spaces, and manual handling.
- Availability for weekend and shift work as required.
