Ordnance Technician Role

We are seeking an experienced Ordnance Technician to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with expertise in radar mechanical systems and above water, underwater weapons systems.

The Role:

The successful candidate will provide depot level and field engineering services for radar mechanical systems installed in Royal Australian Navy vessels. They will also support the installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems at remote sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical guidance to junior staff and other trades on the installation, commissioning, and testing of mechanical systems.
  • Support above water and underwater weapons systems and provide technical advice to customers.
  • Undertake minor projects and tasks associated with technical direction and progress reporting activities.
  • Prepare technical reports and procedures in support of above water and underwater weapons systems.
  • Attend sea acceptance trials and conduct system alignment and defect investigations as required.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a National Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a relevant field, and have experience working in a shipboard environment. They must be physically able to climb ladders, masts, and work in confined spaces. A driver's license and willingness to work shift hours and weekends are also essential.
