As a kitchen steward, you will be responsible for the cleanliness and hygiene of all food and beverage outlets including the maintenance of all equipment and the carrying out of set food preparation duties when required.A little taste of your day to dayOperating dishwashing machinery to wash and sanitize crockery and kitchen implementsMaintaining food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators, ensuring everything is organized and properly stored.Assist with receiving and storage of goodsFacilitate the reporting of workplace hazards to the person (s) who can implement corrective actions.Assisting the chef and kitchen team in basic food preparation including cutting, peeling, and washing ingredients.Ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.Use other safety, emergency equipment, plant materials tools and substances provided in the workplace as directed or as required in safety procedures.Working with kitchen team to provide excellent service to our guests.What we need from you:Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively with kitchen team and other team membersExceptional attitude and 'can do' mindsetAbility to follow instructions as and take initiative when requiredPhysical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objectsFlexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends and public holidaysMust have working rights for AustraliaYou'll be rewarded for your hard work with a suite of benefits that supports you and your family's wellbeing, including:Paid Birthday LeaveHotel Perks like accommodation and Food & Beverage discountsEnhanced parental leaveProactive health days and flexible work optionsYour career journey will be supported through our lifelong development programIHG Career Milestone celebrationsTransfer of entitlements as you move and grow with IHGAccess to our discount retail platform that makes your pay go even furtherOur mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams where we celebrate difference and encourage colleagues to bring their whole selves to work.
