Overview
Drakes Supermarkets is a family owned and operated private company and Australia's largest independently-owned supermarket chain. We are currently looking for a Bakery Assistant Manager 3IC to join our bakery team at the Wallaroo store. The role is part time (25 hours a week based, can be flexed up) with the ability to work every second Saturday, with an RDO during the week. The successful applicant will be given the opportunity to treat the department as their own business and tailor the store's service and product offering to meet local customer needs. Note: Marketable candidates should be prepared to work in a highly competitive supermarket environment and contribute to the bakery team with a hands-on approach.
Responsibilities
Supervise the bakery team and lead by example
Manage ordering, cost control and gross profit within the bakery
Accurate rostering of team members
Maintain fresh food retail standards and customer service excellence
Merchandise bakery products to support sales and promotions
Ensure adherence to work health and safety standards
Qualifications and attributes
Fresh food retail knowledge
Bakery experience preferred (qualifications not essential)
Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with team members and management
Strong leadership and team motivation skills
Hands-on approach with a customer-focused mindset
Ability to problem solve and lead by example
Understanding of ordering, cost control and gross profit
Willingness to work every second Saturday with RDO during the week
