About the role
We are seeking compassionate, self-motivated Community Mental Health Practitioners for permanent full-time and casual positions with our Burnside HASP/SIL team. In this role, you'll provide 1:1, shared, and group supports tailored to individual recovery goals. You'll support residents to:
Build daily living and self-management skills
Strengthen social and community connections
Gain confidence and independence to live well
About the service
Burnside HASP/SIL is a 24/7 residential program providing safe, secure, and affordable housing for people living with significant psychosocial disability and mental health concerns. The service accommodates up to 20 residents, each with their own self-contained unit, offering a stable home environment while developing independent living skills and preparing to transition back to the community.
Key responsibilities
Support clients to return to their community, live independently and enjoy a meaningful life through a staged approach to recovery.
Deliver high quality services and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
Work as part of a multidisciplinary team offering specialised psychosocial support.
Plan and deliver group programs that aid clients to build their skills and focus on recovery.
Collaborate with a range of services and the community to ensure a co-ordinated, integrated response to the client's recovery goals.
What you'll bring
Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy or other health-related field.
Experience working with people with mental health challenges and complex needs, including families and carers.
Proven capability to implement therapeutic, recovery oriented frameworks and practices including risk mitigation, trauma informed care and family inclusive practice.
Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
