Legal Advisor – Transparency and Integrity Role
You will be part of a high-performing team recognized nationally for excellence, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where your advice helps shape public sector integrity.
This role involves providing independent legal and governance advice and services across information access, privacy, complaints, public interest disclosures, and administrative law.
Responsibilities:
Managing requests under GIPA and Standing Order 52
Providing legal advice and drafting documents including contracts, agreements, and submissions
Supporting investigations and responses to ICAC, NSW Ombudsman and other regulatory bodies
Advising on privacy, complaints, and governance matters
Collaborating across Treasury to promote ethical conduct and compliance
Contributing to system and process improvements that enhance transparency and accountability
Requirements:
Admission as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW and a current practising certificate
Experience in government and/or governance advisory roles
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy
Ability to work autonomously and make justifiable decisions
