Transparent Governance Specialist

The Legal Advisor, Transparency role plays a pivotal part in supporting the provision of transparent and accountable governance across NSW Treasury.
This is an ongoing opportunity for a motivated legal professional to deliver independent legal and governance advice and services on information access, privacy, complaints, public interest disclosures, and administrative law.
- Key responsibilities include managing requests under GIPA and Standing Order 52, providing legal advice and drafting documents, supporting investigations and responses to regulatory bodies, and collaborating across Treasury to promote ethical conduct and compliance.
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency
- Admission as a legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of NSW and a current practising certificate
- Experience in government and/or governance advisory roles
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policy
- Ability to work autonomously and make justifiable decisions
