Overview
Senior Technical Architect, Heroku at Salesforce. The Heroku Professional Services team seeks a Senior Technical Architect to lead clients through app development and deployment on the Heroku platform. The role requires deep technical expertise in cloud-based app development, operational runtime, data integration, and management, designing scalable, robust solutions that maximize Heroku capabilities and integrate with other Salesforce products.
The role also requires strong customer-facing skills: translating complex technical concepts into business terms, guiding strategic decisions, leading discussions, and aligning deliverables with client goals. Hands-on coding may be required to prototype solutions or guide the development team.
Responsibilities
Technical Leadership: serve as a domain expert on Heroku's cloud platform and data services, focusing on application development, data management, and seamless integrations.
Strategic Advisory: act as a strategic partner to clients, helping to unlock and integrate data from enterprise systems into Heroku-powered applications, enhancing functionality and business insight.
Project Delivery: lead design and implementation of complex projects involving data cloud strategies, scripting solutions, and extensive data management for successful outcomes.
Client Engagement: build strong client relationships, serve as a trusted advisor, and guide them through technical and strategic challenges.
Innovation and Growth: identify and lead internal initiatives to expand the consulting practice, contribute to the community's knowledge base, and promote innovative uses of Heroku in enterprise architectures.
Requirements
Advanced degrees or cloud-architecture certifications (e.g., Heroku Architecture, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are beneficial.
At least 8 years of professional experience in software development and cloud-based architectures, including hands-on work, with a minimum of 3 years in a technical architecture consulting role focused on Heroku or other cloud-based projects. Proven experience deploying and leading applications on Heroku is a plus.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in developing and deploying applications using at least two languages from Ruby, Java, Python, Node.js, PHP, or Go.
Deep understanding of Heroku data services (Kafka, Redis, Postgres), data migrations and integrations (Heroku Connect), and data handling.
Familiarity with Salesforce integrations via MuleSoft and Salesforce Data Cloud.
Leadership and communication: ability to lead multi-functional teams and communicate technical solutions effectively to diverse audiences.
Problem-Solving and Innovation: strong analytical and innovative thinking across platforms and technologies; ability to learn and apply new technologies quickly.
