The Salvation Army Australia's Family Violence Stream provides a wide range of services around the country to support women and women with children impacted by family and domestic violence. We offer refuge, children's and parenting services, counselling, support, men's programs, accommodation and advice to women and children who are experiencing, or who have experienced, family violence.
We are currently seeking a values-driven Children and Family Case Manager to work with children, young people and parents who require or request parenting support through the delivery of evidence and strength based support sessions focused on the development of healthy, positive parent-child interactions.
This is a permanent part-time position, 3 days per week, located in Hamilton NSW.
You will successfully
- Adherence to the Family Violence Stream vision, mission and values and that of TSA and contributes to a collaborative approach to service delivery and improvement within the team
- Deliver highly effective and appropriate case management to children and young people
- Deliver highly effective and developmentally appropriate evidenced based support services to children and families, based on goals as identified by the parents and/or children, within their home, school and community environments
- Develop positive and effective relationships with children and families and the broader community which encourage self-determination and participation
- Work in partnership with local people, local agencies, schools and local council to develop innovative ways to address community priorities and demands of children and families
You will have
- Degree qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, Counselling, Community Development, Welfare or related field
- Relevant experience in a social service environment
- Demonstrated experience in delivering trauma informed and responsive support
- Competent computing skills including experience in data and record management and Microsoft Office Suite- Relevant child protection requirements are obtained for example Working with children check
- A willingness to undergo a National Police Chec
