Mechanical Colo Regional Engineer Role
Technical professionals with expertise in engineering project management and a strong understanding of data center operations are highly sought after in the industry. As a Mechanical Colo Regional Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with colocation vendors to review designs for new data centers, including design input, submittal review, and integration of AWS products to meet AWS expectations.
Serve as the resident engineer during new colo construction projects, providing support throughout the construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
Investigate and resolve site/equipment failure issues through root cause analysis and corrective action documentation.
Offer technical support to operational teams, providing ad-hoc training, complex operating procedure reviews, and event support.
Provide design input for existing data center upgrades and solutions that enhance capacity, availability, and efficiency.
Lead and approve designs for co-location data center upgrades that improve availability and efficiency.
A typical day involves interacting with various teams responsible for data center operations, prioritizing tasks to ensure data center capacity, availability, and safety, and working on local and global projects.
